Assam Tea
Assam is located in Northeast India and is one of the seven daughters of northeast india.
The word "Assam Tea" conjures up in our vision the mighty Brahmaputra River and a state surrounded with mountains, forests and tea gardens. Assam is the world’s single largest tea-growing region, producing more than 1,500,000 pounds of tea annually.
Assam is the only place in the world who produces black tea.
"Assam Tea" (black tea) can be divided into two categories : (1) Orthodox and, (2) CTC (Crush, Tear and Curl).
The Assam tea produced in Orthodox method is valued most in the international market. 80% of the "Assam Tea" is produced using orthodox method. The remaining portions are used in blends. Most part of the CTC tea are consumed in the Indian market
